GameStop looks like they're the first e-tailer out there to put an outrageous price tag on the Sony PSP 2 aka the NGP (Next Generation Portable). Of course, at Sony's event earlier today they didn't announce a price so GameStop had to put their own placeholder. Yes, you can pre-order one right now for $999.99 which is ridiculous. This, obviously, won't be the final price for the product when it launches later this year but we are hoping that it will be less than the $299 PlayStation 3. They are going to have to compete with the Nintendo 3DS when it launches in a few months. Don't worry though, "official pricing and release dates have not been announced by the publisher."
