Sony Unveils VAIO YA, YB, and S Series Notebooks At CES Presser

Sony unveiled a bunch of new products last night and we'll talk about their various notebooks here. The first one is an 11.6-inch VAIO YB Series notebook which will feature a new AMD E-350 APU, 320GB / 500GB HDD options, up to 4GB of RAM, and Windows 7 Home Premium. The base model will be going for $549 but it only features 2GB of RAM and just the 320GB HDD. The company has also revealed the new VAIO YA Series notebook which features an Intel Core i5 CPU and will be available for $749.

That's not all though. Sony also revealed a new 13.3-inch VAIO S notebook. This one features a new Core i3 CPU, WiDi, and it's all wrapped in a nice magnesium body. Price and release date for this one are unknown right now.

Sony Vaio With AMD Zacate Chipset Breaks Loose, Only Lasts 3 Hours On Battery

Sony has just revealed their own little netbook that's running on AMD's latest Zacate chipset. Beneath the 11.6-inch display, you'll find a dual-core E-350 APU clocking in at 1.6GHz. This exact model that Engadget managed to get their hands on at CES features 4GB of RAM, a 500GB HDD, WiFi 802.11n / Bluetooth support, and an HDMI output. Sadly, they mentioned that this netbook only managed to survive for 3 hours and 6 minutes on a charge so you're going to want to choose a larger battery if you do decide to use this one unplugged for a lengthy amount of time.

Sony Vaio Tablet PC Hits the FCC, Now Set For CES Unveiling

Thanks to the iPad's recent success every company is planning on bombarding us with tablets. Here's a new one spotted at the FCC and it's actually coming from Sony so it's a Vaio tablet. Specs include WiFi b/g/n support but that's really all we know right now. Not even the size of the touchscreen display was mentioned so we'll have to wait for those goodies just a little bit longer. It seems to have cleared the FCC just in time for CES which is just two weeks away. Check it out at the FCC.
