Samsung Shows Off 55-Inch Glasses-Free 3DTV Prototype At FPD

Samsung has just shown off a glimpse of the future. At FPD China they have unveiled a large 55-inch glasses-free 3DTV prototype which was actually working pretty good. The display reportedly has 9 different angles where you can watch the 3D from and, of course, you can switch it to 2D mode whenever you want. Unfortunately, they mentioned that this technology probably won't be ready for the mainstream until 3 years down the road.

Samsung Shows Off 10.1-Inch Plastic LCD Display, Could Find a Home In a Future Galaxy Tab

Samsung's back at it again. This time they've shown off a 10.1-inch Plastic LCD display, which actually could find its way into a larger 10-inch Galaxy Tab in early 2011. The display is 1.88mm thick and has a 1,024 x 600 resolution, 250 nits of brightness, and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio. That seems good enough for a tablet - unless the next iPad sports a Retina display. Being plastic, it'll be tough to break, apparently it's unbreakable.

Samsung Showing Off New 7-Inch Super AMOLED Display At FPD, Could Be In a Future Galaxy Tab

The Samsung Galaxy Tab hasn't been available for that long but it looks like Samsung is already ready to unveil a new display that could hit a model next year. At FPD International this year, Samsung Mobile Display will be showing off a new Super AMOLED display which measures 7-inches across and sports a 1,200 x 600 resolution. This display will be going into full production in mid-2011 so we could be seeing a new Galaxy Tab around the same time - hopefully running Android (Honeycomb / Ice Cream). This is some pretty great news since the Super AMOLED display sports a slightly higher resolution and could save you some battery life in the long-run.
