A bit late to the party Samsung. They have just announced that the WiFi-only Galaxy Tab will be available on April 10th for $349 contract-free, of course. This tablet has been available for a few months now in North America so you already know that it features a 7-inch display, a microSD card slot, a 1GHz CPU, and the Android OS.

Samsung Announce 8.9 and 10.1-Inch Galaxy Tab Models, One-Up the iPad 2

At CTIA this morning, Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 and they're actually looking pretty darn good - definitely a huge improvement over the 7-inch Galaxy Tab of last year. Both of these tablet are actually being marketed as the "world's thinnest mobile tablets" at just 8.6mm thick. For comparison's sake, the iPad 2 is 8.8mm thick so it's definitely quite the feat for Samsung to one-up Apple like that. On both tablets you'll find a 1,280 x 800 resolution PLS display (higher than the iPad 2), a dual-core 1GHz CPU (faster than the iPad 2), a 2MP front-facing camera, WiFi a/b/g/n / Bluetooth 3.0 support, a microSD card slot, a rear-facing 3MP camera, HSPA+ capabilities, dual speakers, Flash 10.2 support, and a battery life of up to 10 hours (6,800mAh battery on 10.1-inch model; 6,000mAh on the 8.9-incher).

Over top of "some of the models" "Honeycomb" will be skinned with what Samsung is calling Touchwiz 4.0. It seems like they just waited for Apple to release their iPad 2 then change up their own tablet accordingly. The 8.9-inch model weighs 470 grams while the 10.1-inch one is now 595 grams. The Galaxy Tab 8.9 is expected to launch in "early Summer" for $469 (16GB) and $569 (32GB), while the larger 10.1-inch model is going to be available on June 8th for $499 (16GB) and $599 (32GB) - right on pace with the iPad 2.

8.9-Inch Galaxy Tab Confirmed, Rocking 1,280 x 800 Resolution and "Honeycomb"

The Samsung Unpacked event isn't until tomorrow but PocketNow has just snagged the photo you see above confirming that there will, indeed, be an 8.9-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab. This tablet will feature a 1,280 x 800 resolution display, a dual-core 1GHz CPU, WiFi support, and Android "Honeycomb". That's all great news so far. Hopefully, the company announces a price and release date tomorrow!

Staples Leak Shows A Bunch of Tablets Coming This Year; 8.9-Inch Samsung, 10-Inch HTC, 7-Inch HP, and More!

Wow, another huge Staples leak has just been spotted and it's coming from their training guide - the one below is coming from a "major retailer" as well, but it could also be Staples. If this isn't the year of the tablets then I don't know what is. The leak shows several tablets that'll be launching this year. We'll just go in order starting with the Motorola XOOM which could be launching this week (March 17th) for $649; it's looking like this one will be the WiFi-only model. Next up is RIM's BlackBerry Playbook which could be launching on March 27th for $499 (16GB), $599 (32GB), and $699 (64GB). Keep in mind that this date might have moved to April. There's also word on the 7-inch Dell Streak 7 which will be launching in late March / April as well; price for that one should be $449 as well - it's already available on T-Mobile.

Now, for the coming soon tablets we have a bunch of them running on Android "Honeycomb" which is great news. We have the 8.9-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab which should be announced next week, the Dell Streak 10, a 10-inch Acer, and a 10-inch Toshiba. It's unknown what the 10-inch Acer tablet will be but it could be the Eee Pad EP101TC, which is a complete guess. The 10-inch Toshiba has been teased by them since January but they have yet to make it official. There's also word on a 10-inch HTC Android "Honeycomb" tablet that's on the way. This one hasn't been announced yet but I'm definitely looking forward to it!

Last, but definitely not least there's word on the 10-inch HP Touchpad running on the next version of webOS along with an unannounced 7-inch model. This will likely get announced at the company's next event which is in a few weeks. Amazing stuff!

Bell has actually just released the Samsung Galaxy Tab on a 3-year contract if you're still interested in one at this point. With the new tablets already announced at CES and MWC earlier this year this tablet is pretty outdated. Of course, there's also the WiFi-only Galaxy Tab which should be launching soon. Anyways, if you want, the tablet is available on Bell right now for $349.95 on a 3-year contract - it's still $649.95 contract-free. Check it out on Bell.

March 22 Will Be the Next "Unpacked" Event, Samsung Set To Unveil 8.9-Inch Galaxy Tab

Samsung looks like they're going to unveil their 8.9-inch Galaxy Tab on March 22nd at their next Unpacked event. How do we know this? Well, it's all because of the numbers "78910". We already know that there's a 7 and 10-inch Galaxy Tab, which leaves the numbers 89. Yup, like the rumours suggested, the 8.9-inch Galaxy Tab will be getting unveiled next month - likely with Android 3.0 "Honeycomb". We can't wait!

Samsung Rumoured To Be Launching An 8.9-Inch Galaxy Tab Next Month

A Korean news agency, Yonhap News, has just mentioned something quite interesting. Apparently, Samsung is getting ready to announce an 8.9-inch Galaxy Tab as soon as next month (March). What's unknown right now is the full spec sheet of said tablet and, more importantly, what version of Android it'll be running on. It will be an 8.9-inch variant but if they're going to try to compete with the LG G-Slate then they're going to have to put "Honeycomb" on it. Of course, if LG did it then Samsung can put "Honeycomb" on a smaller tablet as well. Cross your fingers.

10.1-Inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Running "Honeycomb" To Be Announced At MWC?

There's a new rumour going around that Samsung is going to be unveiling something great right at the start of MWC (Sunday). Reportedly, this will be the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and will, of course, be running on the Android OS - version "Honeycomb". Rumoured specs for this one include an 8MP camera and a dual-core Qualcomm CPU which kind of seems weird since they have their own Exynos (Orion) chipset which should be in production shortly. Somehow, this tablet will barely be smaller than the current iPad even though it's supposed to have a 10.1-inch display. We'll see if this happens.

Samsung Canada Says the Nexus S and WiFi-Only Galaxy Tab Are On the Way

Samsung Canada has reportedly announced that they'll be launching two devices in the coming months. It's going to be the Google Nexus S, which should be hitting Best Buy's across the nation, and the WiFi-only Galaxy Tab. Of course, the Galaxy Tab is already available on Rogers but this one will be an unsubsidized model. About the Nexus S, this will be the first Android handset in Canada running on "Gingerbread" but we still have no clue which carrier it will be hitting. The device doesn't even have support for HSPA+ so it doesn't really matter. Launch dates are still unknown but the Galaxy Tab will be here in late Q1 / early Q2.

WiFi-Only Samsung Galaxy Tab Hitting the USA In Q1

Samsung has just announced that the WiFi-only Galaxy Tab will be hitting the USA in Q1 of this year - so, later this quarter. This tablet sports a 7-inch display with a 1,024 x 600 resolution, 16GB / 32GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth 3.0 support, a 3.2MP AF camera with an LED flash, a front-facing 1.3MP webcam, an ARM Cortex A8 1GHz CPU, and Android 2.2. We don't know if this will be upgraded to "Honeycomb" right now so we'll have to wait for that information. I wouldn't be surprised if Samsung unveils a new tablet at this CES event or MWC next month.

Samsung To Bring the Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Tab 2 At CES 2011?

There's a rumour going around that Samsung is going to be unveiling a few products at CES 2011. We already heard that they'll have the Galaxy S PMP ready and they'll also reportedly have the Galaxy S2 and the Galaxy Tab 2 as well. Of course, this is unconfirmed right now but they could just show us glimpses of both devices and I'd be happy. The Galaxy Tab 2 should be packing a Tegra 2 CPU while the Galaxy S2 should have some sort of dual-core CPU inside of it. I wonder if it'll be ready for prime time.

$499 WiFi-Only Galaxy Tab Delayed (Until Who-Knows-When) By Samsung

Remember that $499 WiFi-only Samsung Galaxy Tab that's supposed to hit Best Buy? Well, apparently that has been delayed by Samsung themselves and they haven't mentioned exactly when it'll be available for you to buy. I doubt that the reason for the delay is that they're upgrading the pre-installed OS so let's really hope that it's here before Christmas so they can hit their 1,000,000 goal.
