Koodo Mobile Releases the BlackBerry Curve 3G With OS 6.0

It looks like Koodo Mobile has just released their latest smartphone and it's the BlackBerry Curve 3G (9300). This handset features a 2MP camera, Bluetooth / WiFi support, a microSD card slot, and sports OS 6.0 on board which is different from the other carriers which have them with OS 5.0. That's actually pretty great news. This one's available on Koodo right now for $300 contract-free or for $150 on the Tab.

MTS Set To Release BlackBerry Curve 9300 On March 31st With OS 6

In Canada, MTS should be releasing a new smartphone soon and it'll be the BlackBerry Curve 9300. The most interesting thing about this one is that it'll launch with OS 6.0 on March 31st. The big 3 in Canada already have this smartphone but it launched with OS 5.0 which is RIM's outdated OS. That's good news for MTS! Check it out on MTS.

Koodo Mobile Releasing the LG Optimus One On March 2, BB Curve 9300 On the Way Too

Koodo Mobile has just announced one piece of information that you might need if you're looking for a budget Android phone. The LG Optimus One will be hitting the Canadian carrier this Wednesday, March 2nd. This one should be available for around $200 contract-free so it could be right around $50 on the Tab. The Optimus One features a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, a 600MHz CPU, a 3MP camera, WiFi / Bluetooth support, a microSD card slot, and Android 2.2 with a custom UI.

An internal screenshot (below) shows that Koodo plans to launch a new BlackBerry, we just don't know when. It's going to be the Curve 9300 which have been available on the Big 3 for a couple of months now. Price is unknown for this one and I won't bother guessing.

WIND Mobile To Get the BlackBerry Curve 3G In the Future

Coming from WIND Mobile's own site is OS 5.0.0.977 for the BlackBerry Curve 3G (9300), which they currently don't offer. Obviously, this is a tip that they will be launching it sometime in the future. The Curve 3G is definitely a great addition to their line-up since the only BB they do offer is the Bold 9700 and consumers want something a bit cheaper. Look out for it soon.

Update: Boy Genius has basically confirmed that WIND Mobile will be getting the Curve 3G (9300) by the leaked inventory screenshot below. As you can see in the picture below there'll be two models so we'll likely be seeing two different colours that the carrier will offer.

AT&T Releases the BlackBerry Pearl 3G and the Curve 3G

As expected, AT&T in the US has just released two smartphones from RIM, the Pearl 3G (9100) and the Curve 3G (9300). I really wasn't expecting AT&T to release these two smartphones at the same time since they officially said that the Pearl 3G would be available on October 17th (which is correct) and they said that the Curve 3G would be available "this holiday season". It sounded like AT&T meant a November release for the Curve 3G or something like that.

Anyways, getting back of track, they're both available right now. The Pearl 3G is going for $149.99 on a 2-year contract (here) and the Curve 3G is going for $99.99 on a 2-year contract (here), both of these prices are after rebates kick in. Both of them are running OS 5.0 but they'll be getting an upgrade to OS 6.0 sometime in the future.

AT&T should be launching the BlackBerry Curve 3G (9300) and the Pearl 3G (9100) soon and it looks it won't be here as soon as we thought it would be. AT&T will be releasing the Pearl 3G on October 17th for $149.99 on a 2-year contract while the Curve 3G will be available for the holiday season for $99.99 on a 2-year contract. Of course, both smartphones will be running OS 5.0 when they launch but the Curve 3G will be upgradeable to OS 6.0 whenever RIM is ready.
