If you head over to your local Best Buy store in Canada you might be intrigued with what you find. The stores across the country are now taking pre-orders for both the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play and the XPERIA Arc. They're both priced the same: at $99.99 on a 3-year contract and $549.99 contract-free. I believe that the XPERIA Play is the better option but the choice is really up to you.

Sony Ericsson's First Walkman Android Phone (W15) Could Be Available This Quarter
Sony Ericsson looks like their first Android Walkman phone (W15) will be launching sometime before the end of this quarter (June). This handset is rumoured to feature a 3-inch HVGA touchscreen display, a 3.2MP camera, a 600MHz CPU, a "dedicated music chip", and some version of Android along with the custom UI. Price is unknown right now but the launch could be sometime in May with, hopefully, "Gingerbread". This would likely snag a lot of customers because of the mid-end specifications as well as a low price tag to follow.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Acro Shows Up With NFC and DTV
Something new has just popped up on Sony Ericsson's own website. It's the XPERIA Acro which sports the same spec sheet as the Arc but has a few goodies inside it. Apparently, it'll also feature infrared, NFC capabilities, and even DTV if you need it. Maybe this one will get official soon and maybe it'll be an Asia exclusive. That's all unknown right now.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini Pro Successor Leaks Again, With "Gingerbread"
Even more photos of the X10 Mini Pro successor has leaked this weekend. The name is still unknown and we're really hoping that Sony Ericsson makes this one official soon. The photos tell us that the handset will, indeed, be running on Android 2.3 "Gingerbread" so that's definitely great news. Doesn't look like this one will be PlayStation Certified though, so you'll still have to pick up an XPERIA Play if you want to relive your childhood.

Rogers Launching the XPERIA Arc and Play In Late April For $99
This one doesn't look like a joke. Mobile Syrup's latest scoop is that Rogers plans to launch the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc and the XPERIA Play in late April for $99.99 on a 3-year contract. It doesn't look like the handset's contract-free prices have been determined yet. The Arc looks like it could land on April 30th, while the Play could hit the carrier sometime between April 19th to the 21st. Interesting stuff!

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo Hits the FCC With AT&T and Canada 3G Bands
Once again, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo has just been caught sneaking through the FCC. This time around it has 850/1900MHz bands which is perfect for AT&T in the US and a bunch of major carriers in Canada so this is definitely great news. Don't be surprised if this one gets announced for Canada or AT&T in the near future, cause it'll be a pretty good addition to any carrier if it's priced right. Check it out at the FCC.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini Pro Successor Spotted In White
It's not exactly a new handset but it's a new colour! Just like the XPERIA X10 which started the Android wave for Sony Ericsson, the X10 Mini Pro successor has just been spotted in the wild. This time it's in white! Unlike Apple, the company will actually deliver this one on time with the black colour, but they still have to make it official. Of course, being a "Pro" model it'll have a slide-out QWERTY keyboard along with a 3-inch HVGA touchscreen display and Android 2.3 with their own custom UI.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play Hitting UK On March 31st
Sony Ericsson has just mentioned something great for those who are looking to pick up the XPERIA Play. The company mentioned that it'll be available in late March, the 31st, but the price wasn't mentioned yet. At launch there'll be six games for you to finish, but you'll have access to the games on the Android Market as well so you don't need to worry. Don't forget that they're working on new games and that this is a smartphone as well. It's no NGP but it'll do for now.

Sony Ericsson WP7 Handset Leaks In Prototype Form, With a Slide-Out QWERTY Keyboard
A new photo of a Sony Ericsson smartphone has just leaked. Judging from the display and the three capacitive buttons, it's a prototype Windows Phone 7 handset from the company. Now, there's no way of confirming this one's real because it could just be an awesome photoshop job. Then again, I don't really know why anyone would waste their time photoshopping something like this. It looks pretty legit to me so now we wait for Sony Ericsson to announce this one.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play Hits the FCC Again, Likely Europe / Asia Model
Well, well, well. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play has just hit the FCC yet again. This model actually sports global GSM 900 / 2100MHz connectivity so it's likely the one headed to Europe and Asia - sorry Canada and AT&T lovers. Of course, it should be hitting North of the border in a few months but who knows how long we'll have to wait for that one. Check it out at the FCC.

Sony Ericsson Says a "Smarter Walkman Phone Is Coming", Could Be Android Powered
A teaser ad has just leaked from Sony Ericsson that says a "smarter Walkman Phone is coming" but we don't know exactly when the unveiling will be. Of course, this could very well be hinting that Sony Ericsson is planning a Walkman branded Android smartphone but I don't really understand why. They should just stick to the XPERIA name because Walkman just makes it sound like a low-end phone.

Pink Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc Headed To Japan On March 24th
The perfect Paris Hilton phone? Possibly. NTT DoCoMo in Japan has just announced what you see above and that's a pink (Sakura Pink, to be exact) Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc. It'll be launching on March 24th along with the Misty Silver and Midnight Blue colours. This should be right around the same date that Europe will be getting it as well. Sadly, we don't know if this will be hitting North America so we're going to have to keep waiting.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play Spotted In Verizon's Systems
Not really much to tell you here that the title doesn't already say. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play gaming Android handheld has just been spotted in Verizon's inventory system and it's the Sony R800X. This is, obviously, a CDMA model but it's not looking like it'll be a Verizon exclusive in the US. Canada will be getting it on Rogers so that means AT&T could be getting it as well. Price and release dates are still TBA.

Ugly Sony Ericsson Prototype Tablet With 4G and 3MP Webcam Leaks
A very ugly prototype leaked today and it's kind of sad that it's actually coming from Sony Ericsson. This prototype tablet is coming from NieuweMobiel and it's said to feature TD-LTE connectivity which is great for China Mobile. The display is said to be a 6 to 7-incher along with a 3MP front-facing webcam and the largest bezel in existence. Let's really hope that their 9.4-inch "Honeycomb" powered tablet looks nothing like this.

It looks like two Sony Ericsson Android handsets are headed to Canada's Rogers sometime in the future. It's going to be the recently announced XPERIA Play gaming smartphone and the XPERIA Arc which was announced at CES earlier this year. These handsets will reportedly be available starting in Spring but not even a month was given. It's still early so the price is still TBD.
