Next iPhone To Have 8MP Camera, Better Antenna, and Same CPU As iPad 2

Chalk this one up as a new rumour regarding Apple's next iPhone. Apple Insider is reporting that the next iPhone that gets introduced this year will have the same A5 CPU that you'll find in the iPad 2 meaning that the Galaxy S II will have the upper-hand if the software follows suit. Other rumoured specs are said to be an 8MP camera (likely from Sony), an improved antenna, and a Qualcomm chip that'll do GSM and CDMA just for good measure.

The design of the next iPhone is said to be the same as the iPhone 4 (think iPhone 3G to iPhone 3GS), but we have heard rumours in the past of an aluminum back. Rumoured release is said to be September but we know that Apple rumours tend to get out of hand all the time. What to believe...?

White iPhone 4 Spotted In Verizon's Systems, Launch Imminent

9 to 5 Mac has just reported something pretty good if you're still waiting for the white iPhone 4 from Apple. Apparently, the photo above was taken of the Verizon inventory system and it shows said smartphone in there. MC679LL/A is the one you're looking at and that's just one-digit higher than the black iPhone models (MC678LL/A). Not much left to tell you here but the launch could actually be soon - after quite a lengthy wait.

White iPhone 4 Could Be Available In a Few Weeks, May Launch?

Bloomberg is reporting something great if you're still waiting for the white iPhone 4 for some reason. Apparently, Apple could be planning to ship this white model in the next few weeks so I'm assuming it'll be sometime in May. With rumours of the next iPhone being delayed until at least September, maybe you might want to pick one up if you don't feel like waiting.

BGR Gets a Hands-On With the BlackBerry Monaco / Monza

BGR has just gotten their hands on an upcoming BlackBerry and it's the one we've been hearing for a long time. Yes, it's the Monaco / Monza which could be launching as the Storm 3, Curve Touch, or the BlackBerry Touch - it's all too confusing at this point. The name doesn't really matter because it's all about the software.

This smartphone is going to be running on BB OS 6.1 and there'll be a global GSM model for it. Specs are still unknown right now but you'll need a BlackBerry ID to login to the system. If you want to know more then just check out BGR for all of the details.

Nokia T7-00 Leaks and It's Not a Tablet, Another Symbian^3 Device

Yet another Nokia device has leaked and it's the T7-00. Unfortunately, it's probably just another Symbian^3 device and not a Windows Phone 7 or even a tablet. This device reportedly features a 360 x 640 resolution which is right on pace with their latest and greatest phones so you can expect it to fly under the radar. Who knows when or if this device will hit the market.

ZTE Unveils 4.3-inch Smartphone and 10-inch "Honeycomb" Tablet With LTE At CTIA

MSI has unveiled two new products that they intend to launch in the future. The one above is a 4.3-inch smartphone while the one below is their upcoming LTE (4G) tablet, of course, both are running Android. First, the one above was just a mockup and it's said to feature a 4.3-inch display, a VGA front-facing camera, a 5MP rear-facing camera, a 1,350mAh battery, and Android 2.3 "Gingerbread". Those are some pretty good specs so let's hope they can deliver a US launch.

The other device, like I said, is a tablet and it's going to be running Android "Honeycomb" whenever it actually does hit the market. This one reportedly features a 10-inch display with a 1,280 x 800 resolution, a 1.2GHz CPU, dual cameras, LTE (4G) connectivity, and a 6,800mAh battery. I wonder if this one will be hitting Verizon later this year. Unfortunately, launches look like they'll be in the second half of the year.

Apple's Next iPhone Prototype Possibly Leaks, Aluminum Back and Larger Display?

First off, the image above is not real; it's just a "metal" sticker for the iPhone 4 so don't go crazy. Getting back on track, the latest rumour states that Apple's next iPhone that'll be launching this Summer will reportedly feature a metal back and the sexy-looking iPhone 4 design. Of course, there's no way to confirm this news but the prototypes were apparently leaked from Foxconn. Furthermore, the display for the next iPhone is said to be a bit larger than the current model so I'm wondering if the pixel density will remain the same.

Apparently, the display will be 4-inches but we've been hearing about this rumour for a while now. Of course, Apple's next iPhone could have an edge-to-edge display which would be great so let's hope they also get rid of some bezel on the top and the bottom.

Apple's Next iPhone Rumoured To Feature Dual SIM Card Slot

iDealsChina has just mentioned something that some people could be looking for (not me). Apparently, the latest rumour on the street says that Apple's next phone (in June) could actually be sporting a dual-SIM card slot which is quite interesting. This would be great for those that carry around two phones because you can just jam both of your SIM cards into one phone which would be convenient. Of course, this is just a rumour right now because the website doesn't have a 100% track record.

64GB iPhone 4 Prototype Leaks From Foxconn, Short Hands-On Video

Something pretty big has just leaked from the Foxconn factory and MICGadget got their hands-on it somehow. Yup, it's a 64GB iPhone 4 but who knows if this'll actually get released - probably just a prototype. It could be a hint of things to come though. Maybe the next-gen iPhone will have a 64GB option; Apple could be planning to cut out the 16GB or 32GB model for their next model. In the meantime you can check out the video below.

Next-Gen iPhone To Have An Aluminum Back, Logo Will Double As the Antenna

There's a new rumour going around regarding the next Apple iPhone, coming from GadgetsDNA. Apparently, the next iPhone that ships in the Summer will sport an aluminum back and the Apple logo might actually contain the antenna. Apple did catch some early heat regarding the "death grip" with the iPhone 4, so they're obviously going to change the location of the antenna this time around. We'll see what happens. Maybe this time Apple will be able to deliver a white next-gen iPhone on time.

Sony Ericsson Says a "Smarter Walkman Phone Is Coming", Could Be Android Powered

A teaser ad has just leaked from Sony Ericsson that says a "smarter Walkman Phone is coming" but we don't know exactly when the unveiling will be. Of course, this could very well be hinting that Sony Ericsson is planning a Walkman branded Android smartphone but I don't really understand why. They should just stick to the XPERIA name because Walkman just makes it sound like a low-end phone.

Apple's Tim Cook Hints At a Prepaid iPhone, Adds Fuel To the Fire Of Rumours

The WSJ and Forbes has just mentioned some pretty good news. Remember the news about a smaller iPhone that would be hitting the prepaid market for $199? Well, Tim Cook from Apple might have just hinted at it when he talked to Bernstein Research analyst, Toni Sacconaghi. Cook mentioned that "Apple didn't want its products to be 'just for the rich,' but 'for everyone'; he also stated that Apple 'understood price is big factor in the prepaid market' and that the company was 'not ceding any market.'" Basically, Apple could be working on that prepaid iPhone that a bunch of tweens may be looking for.

Possible Next-Gen iPhone Part Leaks, Thin Bezel With a Slightly Larger Display

Coming from a Chinese reseller's website is what you see above which it looking like it could be a next-gen iPhone part. Measurements for this one unknown but thin bezels could be pointing at a 3.7 or even a 4-inch display for the next iPhone which should be launching in June. The part does tell us that the lone 'Home' button is here to stay and there'll, of course, be a front-facing camera.

Future BlackBerrys Could Be Running Android Apps, Cause They're "Super Apps" Aren't Enough

ShopSavvy has just mentioned something that could be in the future for RIM and the BlackBerry. First, let's keep in mind that it has been reported that the company's PlayBook tablet will actually be able to run Android apps which is a big deal. Now, we're hearing reports that ShopSavvy's Android app has actually been activated by a few BlackBerrys at RIM's HQs in Waterloo, Ontario. Interesting stuff. It could be a hint of things to come and would be a great addition to future BlackBerrys. It might even be enough for me to get one.

Wintek Supplying Apple With White iPhone 5 Parts?

Coming from DigiTimes is a rumour about a white iPhone 5 launching - even though the white iPhone 4 has been heavily delayed and still isn't available. Interesting. Apparently, Wintek is supplying Apple white iPhone 5 touch panels . Well, there's really no way to confirm this until Apple announces the next iPhone which should be in June. Maybe they should focus on releasing the white iPhone 4 for now.

Apple's Next iPhone To Have a 4-Inch Display?

Apple rumours go crazy this time of year. Just these past few days we've heard of Apple testing three next-gen iPhone prototypes including one with a QWERTY keyboard (that'll probably never get released) and we also heard that the company is working on a smaller iPhone - with iPhone 4 parts - that'll reportedly cost $200 contract-free which would be amazing. Today we're hearing something new from DigiTimes which also sounds great.

The firm has mentioned that Apple's next iPhone may actually feature a larger (and much better) 4-inch display. So much for 3.5-inches being the perfect size. They're likely doing this to stunt the growth of larger and higher-end Android devices because I believe that 4-inch displays are the perfect size for smartphones right now. Well, we'll see if this ever happens.

ZTE Teases A Bunch Of Devices; 4.3, 7, and 10-Inch Form Factors

ZTE showed off a bunch of devices here but we have no clue if they'll ever hit North American land, but they'll likely be available somewhere in Asia in the future. They announced the 7-inch ZTE Light and Light 2. These are going to be running 1.2GHz dual-core CPUs, while the Light 2 is packing WiMAX and even LTE connectivity which is pretty awesome. The company wasn't big on announcing full spec sheets because all they did was tease their devices.

Moving along they also announced the Light10 which features a 10-inch display a 1.2GHz CPU, and Android "Honeycomb". They also brought the ZTE Skate to their booth which was actually inspired by a skateboard. Interesting. It features a 4.3-inch display, an 800MHz CPU, an Adreno 200 GPU, a 5MP camera, and stock Android 2.3 (at least for now). They also briefly mentioned an "Internet Box" which could be hinting that they're planning to launch Android-based set-top box. That's all guess work right now so we'll just have to see what they company announces. Maybe it's Google TV?

HP Veer Hits the FCC, Perfect For North America

It looks like the recently announced HP Veer has just found its way to the FCC. This was just announced by HP at their event earlier this week and the filing actually doesn't tell us much. The model number for it is P160UNA and this one's good enough for North American UMTS connectivity so maybe we'll be seeing it sold by HP unlocked soon. Check it out at the FCC.

ViewSonic Announces the Windows 7 / Android Dual-Booting Tablet and V350 Smartphone

ViewSonic just couldn't keep their lips shut until MWC which starts in a few days and that's probably because bigger companies will announce much, much better devices. The company announced two tablets along with a smartphone early this morning. They're pretty interesting so you might want to click on through to read a bit more.

First up is the ViewPad 10Pro which is a 10-inch tablet which is going to be dual-booting Windows 7 Professional along with Android 2.2 "Froyo" - like I said, pretty interesting. Beneath the 1,024 x 600 LED-backlit display you'll be getting integrated 3G, Bluetooth / WiFi support, and a battery that should only last about 6 hours. The other tablet will be the ViewPad 10s 3G which is similar to the tablet that was unveiled at CES but it'll have, yes, 3G connectivity.

What you see below is a new one, the ViewSonic V350 smartphone. This features a 3.5-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen display, a 5MP camera, a microSD card slot, WiFi / Bluetooth support, aGPS, a dual-SIM card slot, and Android 2.2 with a custom UI. It's pretty smart that the company made this a dual-SIM capable handset because at least there's a reason to go and get this one now.

Bloomberg Says Apple Is Working On a Smaller iPhone With iPhone 4 Components

Coming from Bloomberg is word that Apple is actually working on a smaller iPhone that's rumoured to cost $199.99 contract-free. This prototype that they're testing right now is apparently one-third smaller than the iPhone 4 and will use similar components to the iPhone 4 to keep costs down. I'm assuming they're going to be targeting teens for this one because a smaller display than the iPhone 4's will be hard to type on if you have adult hands and fingers. Interesting. Maybe it'll be launched this year.
