If you head over to your local Best Buy store in Canada you might be intrigued with what you find. The stores across the country are now taking pre-orders for both the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play and the XPERIA Arc. They're both priced the same: at $99.99 on a 3-year contract and $549.99 contract-free. I believe that the XPERIA Play is the better option but the choice is really up to you.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play Hitting UK On March 31st
Sony Ericsson has just mentioned something great for those who are looking to pick up the XPERIA Play. The company mentioned that it'll be available in late March, the 31st, but the price wasn't mentioned yet. At launch there'll be six games for you to finish, but you'll have access to the games on the Android Market as well so you don't need to worry. Don't forget that they're working on new games and that this is a smartphone as well. It's no NGP but it'll do for now.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play Hits the FCC Again, Likely Europe / Asia Model
Well, well, well. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play has just hit the FCC yet again. This model actually sports global GSM 900 / 2100MHz connectivity so it's likely the one headed to Europe and Asia - sorry Canada and AT&T lovers. Of course, it should be hitting North of the border in a few months but who knows how long we'll have to wait for that one. Check it out at the FCC.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play Spotted In Verizon's Systems
Not really much to tell you here that the title doesn't already say. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play gaming Android handheld has just been spotted in Verizon's inventory system and it's the Sony R800X. This is, obviously, a CDMA model but it's not looking like it'll be a Verizon exclusive in the US. Canada will be getting it on Rogers so that means AT&T could be getting it as well. Price and release dates are still TBA.

Sony Ericsson has just come clean on at least one product that they'll be bringing to MWC on February 13th at 18:00 GMT. Yes, it's going to be their Android powered gaming smartphone, the XPERIA Play. We've seen this one on video many times before but it'll be good to see exactly how Sony Ericsson handles the unveiling. Maybe even some live demonstration of some gaming on the device. That'd be good. Check out their Facebook page, which is where they come clean about said smartphone.

PlayStation Phone aka the XPERIA Play Leaks Again With Fitting Logos
In the midst of all of this CES stuff it's easy to fall behind in all of the information that's rolling in. Well, Engadget has picked up another photo of the PlayStation Phone (via hkgolden.com) and this time it even has "XPERIA" and PlayStation logos. It looks like it will really be called the XPERIA Play when it hits the market. The source actually managed to get his hands on two of these smartphones and even compared it side-by-side with a white XPERIA X10. Thankfully, this one's now running on Android 2.3 so at least we know that it'll be up to date when it does hit the market. Hopefully, the announcement is set for MWC next month.

Sony's PlayStation Phone (Zeus Z1) Gets Benchmarked On Video, Clearly Still a Prototype
Another video of the PlayStation Phone (Zeus Z1) has just made its way on Engadget and this time its shows off some oh-so-important benchmarks. On Qualcomm's Neocore benchmark app, the PlayStation Phone pumped out 24.4fps which is significantly less than the Nexus S which scored 55.6fps. Of course, the software / hardware for this is still in prototype form so expect everything to be ironed out for the launch date which is still unknown. This definitely looks like it'll be a great device from Sony but I'm really wondering how the support for games will work because the Android Market doesn't have too many great games.

Sony's PlayStation (Z1) Phone Gets Caught In the Wild, Has 4-Inch Display and Gingerbread?
Coming from a Germany website is a video of an upcoming gaming Android handset from Sony Ericsson. Yes, it's apparently the PlayStation (Z1) Phone caught in the wild! This is a pretty sneaky short video, so take a look at it below. If the rumours are true, we could be seeing this one in a few days. If that doesn't pan out to be true, then it'll likely get an MWC 2011 unveiling. Sources say that this smartphone packs a 4-inch display and will be running Gingerbread by the time it actually hits the market.

Sony Actually Announcing the PlayStation Phone On December 9th?
Maybe we won't have to wait until February 2011 after all. The latest rumour going around is that Sony could actually be announcing the PlayStation Phone at an event on December 9th. Yes this is unconfirmed right now and keep in mind that if this is true it's just an announcement, not a release. Knowing Sony, they could announce it at this event and then not reveal a release date which is why we might see at MWC 2011 again. Take it with a grain of salt people.
