WiFi-Only HTC Flyer Now Up For Pre-Orders In Germany

A retailer I've actually never heard of before, Cyberport, is actually now taking pre-orders in Germany for the Android powered 7-inch HTC Flyer tablet. You can clearly see that this WiFi-only model will cost you €499 ($685 USD). The release date is unknown right now but we know the spec sheet because this tablet was made official at MWC which took place earlier this month.

The HTC Flyer features a 7-inch display with a 1,024 x 600 resolution, a 5MP camera, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth 3.0 support, a front-facing 1.3MP camera, 32GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, a 1.5GHz single-core CPU, aGPS, and unfortunately just Android 2.4 with the Sense UI. It might be worth it if you don't have enough money for an Android "Honeycomb" based tablet.

Amazon Germany Lists the HTC Flyer For a Whopping €669

Amazon Germany has been the first e-tailer to put up the HTC Flyer on their website. They have listed this tablet for €669 which is right around $900 USD - even more expensive than the Motorola XOOM. Pretty interested but I really can't see it really launch for this much. This tablet features a 7-inch display, a 1.5GHz Qualcomm CPU, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, Bluetooth 3.0 / WiFi b/g/n support, a 5MP camera, a 1.3MP front-facing camera, a microSD card slot, an HDMI output, DLNA, and Android 2.4 with the Sense UI. Check it out on Amazon if you want to know more.

HTC Desire 2, Possibly "Saga", Spotted In Vodafone Germany's Inventory System

Coming from HTC Inside is what you see above. That's coming from Vodafone Germany's inventory system and it clearly shows the HTC Desire 2. Now we don't know what smartphone it will be but it'll likely get announced at MWC. What is very well could be is what we've heard up to this point as the HTC "Saga". That's the phone you see below which looks like a black Nexus One without a trackball and a front-facing camera. Look out for the announcement soon!

LG Optimus 2X and Optimus Black Up On Amazon Germany For €499, Can't Buy One Yet

Amazon Germany has just put up two new Android-based smartphones from LG on their online website. Like the title says, it's the LG Optimus 2X (above) and the Optimus Black (below) - they're here and here, respectively. They're not available to purchase right now but they're both priced at €499 ($680 USD). Both of these smartphones are pretty great. They're both sporting 4-inch WVGA displays, a microSD card slot, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth support, and Android 2.2. The Optimus 2X sports a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 chipset along with 1080p HD video recording capabilities, while the Optimus Black is the world's thinnest smartphone at 9.2mm and also features a 2MP front-facing camera and WiFi Direct capabilities which is quite a new technology. Pretty impressive from LG which is something they're going to have to do after announcing their poor Q4 results.

Vodafone Germany's Inventory System Shows the White iPhone 4; Best Buy Too!

It's not much but Vodafone Germany's inventory system has just hinted that something just might be on the way. The white iPhone 4 was spotted in their systems which could mean that the launch will be soon. Of course, it'll be available in 16GB and 32GB models but who knows if they'll actually ever be available. We heard that it'll be available in Spring but we'll see if that pans out to be true.

Update: Mac Rumors has just picked up an image of the white iPhone 4 (in 16GB / 32GB models) in Best Buy's internal systems as well. Apparently, the system says that it's on course for a February 27th launch date.

HTC 7 Pro Now Available in Germany On O2 Or Unlocked

The HTC 7 Pro is finally on sale, but it's not in the US; it's on sale right now in Germany. It's available on O2 for €29 on a 2-year €22.50 monthly contract or you can also get it unlocked for €599 ($796 USD). That's quite expensive considering that you can get a better Android phone at a cheaper price. This Windows Phone 7 handset features a 3.6-inch WVGA touchscreen display, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and a 5MP camera with 720p HD video recording.

Yes, this should be hitting the US in the first half of this year and it'll be a CDMA device - could launch on both Verizon and Sprint.

It looks a smartphone from HTC will be hitting at least one carrier in Europe, O2 Germany, in early 2011 and it's the 7 Pro. This is obviously a Windows Phone 7 handset that will reportedly be available sometime in January 2011. Since this is the case you can expect this one to get official in a few days / weeks. Maybe we'll see it at CES 2011. Check it out on O2 Germany.

Sony's PlayStation (Z1) Phone Gets Caught In the Wild, Has 4-Inch Display and Gingerbread?

Coming from a Germany website is a video of an upcoming gaming Android handset from Sony Ericsson. Yes, it's apparently the PlayStation (Z1) Phone caught in the wild! This is a pretty sneaky short video, so take a look at it below. If the rumours are true, we could be seeing this one in a few days. If that doesn't pan out to be true, then it'll likely get an MWC 2011 unveiling. Sources say that this smartphone packs a 4-inch display and will be running Gingerbread by the time it actually hits the market.

HP and Palm Release the Pre 2 In Europe

As expected, HP and Palm have just released the WebOS 2.0 based Pre 2 smartphone in Germany. If you're really in the mood to get it then be prepared to pay anywhere between £399 ($644 USD) and €499 ($683 USD) because the carriers have actually rejected to carry the smartphone so you'll have to pay the unsubsidized fee. It had potential but this will definitely slow down the sales a whole bunch. Check it out here.

BlackBerry "Pluto" 99xx's Battery Cover Gets Spotted In Vodafone Germany's Systems?

We definitely haven't heard about the BlackBerry 99xx (below) in a long time. Coming from the BlackBerry OS Forums is this leaked Vodafone Germany system screenshot (above). If you translate "Akkufachdeckel schwarz" that's actually "black berry cover". That's all well and good for now, but I know a few people who are still waiting for this one. Codenamed the Pluto, it's said that this smartphone from RIM will sport the Bold form-factor along with a touchscreen display. Hopefully RIM throw on a touchscreen onto this device as well.

German Paper Says the Nintendo 3DS Will Launch On November 11th

While it's unconfirmed when the Nintendo 3DS will launch some rumours are swirling around this morning. According to a German paper, Bild, the 3DS will be launching on November 11th in Japan with a European launch apparently scheduled for Spring of 2011. This is the exact same date we heard about two weeks ago so maybe this date is actually legit. Bild also mentions that some games that will be available for the 3DS launch include: Mario Kart 3D, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, and Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle. It's just a rumour right now so don't get your hopes up.
