What you see above is a Sony poster that's around the Las Vegas Convention Center at CES. It doesn't tell us much, but it does show us that Sony Ericsson is definitely going to be unveiling something at the event. We don't know what it is right now but it looks like it has a 3.5mm headphone jack. Since Sony Ericsson is Sony's phone brand, we can assume it's a phone. And yes, it does look excessively thin. We just hope it has some high-end specs inside as well.
Update: Engadget has just mentioned that this smartphone could actually be the very thin Anzu which should actually get unveiled as the XPERIA X12. Only time will tell.

Sony Unveiling Something At MWC 2011 In February, Could Be the PlayStation Phone
The WSJ has just reported that Sony Ericsson plans to unveil a new product at MWC 2011 (February 2011) and this one's sounding like some great news. It could be the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X12 (codenamed "Anzu"), but everyone is really hoping that it'll be what you see above, the PlayStation Phone. The SE CEO did mention that "the future might be brighter" and that "Sony is of course a very strong brand, and why shouldn't we use that?" in regards to a PlayStation Phone. Yes, that's probably a hint towards what they'll be launching. Either way, don't find it surprising if we actually see both smartphones at the event.

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 (Anzu) Gets Previewed, Actually Has the New 800MHz CPU
We already heard that Eldar Murtazin from Mobile-Review got his hands on the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X12 aka the Anzu and it looks like he wasn't kidding. His website has just previewed the smartphone and mentions that it still needs a bit of work. Right now it's only running on Android 2.1 (might be running just Froyo [2.2] when it launches, with an update to Gingerbread [2.3] after) and the camera wasn't working to its full potential.
Other than that they confirmed a few specs. The X12 actually features a Qualcomm MSM7230 800MHz CPU (same as the G2 / Desire Z), which is faster than the X10's 1GHz Snapdragon CPU. Of course, this is still in prototype form so the company still needs to put their skin over Android - which kind of sucks. Anyways, the display is 4.3-inches (with a 480 x 854 resolution), it has an HDMI output, and has a thinner body and is lighter than the X10. I'd advise you to check out the whole preview below!

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X12 (Anzu) Will Cost A Whopping €650 Unsubsidized
We've already heard that Sony Ericsson is working on a new Android-based smartphone, the XPERIA X12 or the Anzu. Just like we heard, this should be launching in the first half of 2011 and it'll actually cost you a whopping €650 ($886 USD) when it hits the market. That might sound worth it right now (to some crazy people), but by the time it actually hits the market it'll be lagging behind the competition.
We already heard that Eldar got his hands on a next-gen Galaxy S smartphone with a dual-core CPU and we know that the Anzu (or X12) that's being rumoured right now features a single-core 1GHz CPU. Maybe SE will upgrade the internals after they see that they're getting smoked.

Eldar Gets His Hands On the Samsung Galaxy 2 (i9100) and Says They Have Dual-Core CPUs
I don't believe much that comes from Eldar Murtazin's mouth (or any of his tweets) but this one's quite interesting. Apparently, he has been playing with a Sony Ericsson Anzo (or Anzu) and a Samsung Galaxy 2 aka the I9100. He mentions that the Samsung phone is advanced because it reportedly features a dual-core CPU. Of course, this smartphone (if true) should be the next Galaxy S batch because the current ones have the model number I9000. This isn't confirmation that the Nexus S will have the same dual-core CPUs but I'm crossing my fingers for that to be the case. Check out the tweet here.

Sony Ericsson "Anzu" Gets Pictured, Packs 4.3-Inch Display and Gingerbread; Launching Q1 2011
There's a few companies out there that are back in the game thanks to Google's Android OS. One of them is Sony Ericsson and, apparently, they have a new smartphone in the pipe for Q1 2011. The smartphone (pictured above) is said to be the "Anzu" and it reportedly features a 4.3-inch display (a bit bigger than the 4.1-inch display on their X10), an HDMI output, a "very, very slim" body, and Android "Gingerbread". As you can see, it looks quite similar to the XPERIA X10 and that's not that much of a big deal. Let's really just cross our fingers and hope that the software is on point.
Update: Yes, the photo above is the "Anzu" but it's just running Eclair at this point. The rumour mill is swirling around and mentions that this new flagship device could be launching as the X12 - they really like to skip numbers. Apparently, this could also launch with Honeycomb but knowing Sony Ericsson my bet's on it shipping with Gingerbread still.
