Virgin Mobile Prepping To Launch 4.1-Inch Snapdragon Packing Android Handset
It looks like Virgin Mobile's latest survey has just hinted that they're going to be launching a new smartphone in the near future. Coming from them, the handset will feature a 4.1-inch touchscreen WVGA display, a 5MP camera, Bluetooth / WiFi support, 3G connectivity, an HDMI output, and a Snapdragon CPU, and Android 2.2. Now, we don't know what smartphone it is right now but it's looking pretty good. I'm going to assume that it'll be an HTC handset though.

Next BlackBerry Torch Gets Detailed, Includes Pic and Specs; 1.2GHz!
BGR is back at it again, this time getting exclusive information on the next BlackBerry Torch from RIM. This one will reportedly feature a very similar design to the first Torch but it'll have a matte silver finish this time around. This one is said to be hitting the market (AT&T in the US) in Q3 of this year. Canada should be getting it on at least four carriers as well (Rogers, Bell, Telus, Virgin Mobile).
Specs include: a 3.2-inch touchscreen display with a mediocre 640 x 480 resolution, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE / tri-band HSPA connectivity, a 1.2GHz CPU with hardware acceleration, 8GB of internal storage, a 5MP camera with a flash, 512MB of RAM, Bluetooth 2.1 / GPS support, NFC, a magnetometer / accelerometer / proximity sensor, OpenGL ES, a 14.6mm thick body, and BB OS 6.1. Of course, you'll also probably find WiFi in here which shouldn't be surprising. Interesting coming from RIM, but they definitely have to work on improving the display.

Best Buy Canada Says That the BlackBerry Bold 9780 Will Cost $149.99 On a 3-Year
Best Buy has just confirmed that a couple of carriers in Canada will be launching the BlackBerry Bold 9780 for $149.99 on a 3-year contract sometime in the near future. The carriers listed are Bell, Virgin Mobile, and Rogers - Telus is no where to be seen so that price tag is still unknown at this point. Hopefully, it's even a little bit cheaper since they are getting the Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate soon. Getting back on track, the Bold 9780's contract-free price is said to be $599.99, but that's unconfirmed right now.

Virgin Mobile Canada To Launch the BlackBerry Bold 9780 On Nov. 9th, Galaxy S On the 15th
A tipster from Boy Genius has just mentioned that Virgin Mobile in Canada is just about ready to launch the BlackBerry Bold 9780, the LG Flick, and Samsung Galaxy 550 (aka the i5500), and the Galaxy S. The two smartphones that are the most interesting on this is, of course, the Bold 9780, which will apparently launch on November 9th (next week), and the Galaxy S, which will be launching on November 15th. Right now we don't know which model of the Galaxy S they'll be getting but you should already know the spec sheet by now since most of the Galaxy S's sport [more or less] the exact same ones. Bell owns Virgin Mobile and they managed to get the European Galaxy S which has a front-facing camera; maybe they'll be getting the same one.

Virgin Mobile's Q4 Devices Gets Priced and Dated
Last week a Q4 roadmap leaked regarding Virgin Mobile and Mobile Syrup has confirmed that the roadmap was true. What you see above tells you everything that you need to know regarding the launch date. First off, the BlackBerry Torch is already available on Virgin so that's out of the way. On October 21st, the carrier will be releasing the LG Sway and the BlackBerry Bold 9780. The Sway will be available for free on a 3-year SuperTab contract, while the price for the 9780 is still unknown. On November 9th, the carrier will release the LG Flick, while the Samsung Galaxy 5 (i5500) will be available on November 12th. Both of these handsets will be available for free on the SuperTab contract. Clearly, you can expect them all soon but none of them are high-end so it's not really a big deal.

Virgin Mobile's (in Canada) Q4 Roadmap Leaks Out; BB Torch, Bold 9780, and Others On the Way
Well, the entire Q4 roadmap for Virgin Mobile in Canada has just leaked out and sadly there isn't anything too exciting coming up for the carrier. There's the Galaxy 5 (i5500) that we heard about yesterday along with the BB Torch and the Bold 9780. The Bold 9780 should be hitting the carrier on October 21st.
On the messaging spectrum there's the Gravity 3 which sports a slide-out QWERTY keyboard; they already have the Gravity 3 so they're just launching a new colour yellow / black. The last two handsets are the LG Sway and the Flick, which are set to be basic voice phones. They sport a 2-inch display with a 1.3MP camera and a 2.4-inch display with a 2MP camera, respectively, and they'll both be available for free on a 3-year SuperTab contract.

Mid-End Samsung Galaxy 5 (i5500) Headed To Canada Via Virgin Mobile
Virgin Mobile looks like they will be getting a Samsung Galaxy smartphone but it's not the Galaxy S (at least not right now). According to the image you see above they'll actually be getting the mid-end Galaxy 5 (i5500). This smartphone features a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display, a 600MHz CPU, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 2MP camera, WiFi / GPS, a microSD card slot, and Android 2.1 (upgradeable to 2.2 in the future). The release date is unknown right now but it'll be available for free on their SuperTab (3-year) contract.
Update: According to Unwired View, this handset will be hitting the carrier on November 12th.
