This isn't the worst news in the world, but you might have to wait a bit longer for this sweet Galaxy S variant.

According to the leaked image above, Verizon intends to launch the Motorola DROID Pro for $179 on a 2-year contract, while the dual-display Android-based Samsung (i400) Continuum will cost you $199 on a 2-year contract. The Continuum should be announced on Monday, November 9th at Samsung's own event so you can look out for that one to get official then. The DROID Pro is an interesting handset since it's a BlackBerry-style Android handset. Both smartphones should make quite the impact on the market.

Verizon To Launch the Motorola (WX445) Citrus, Samsung Zeal, and Samsung Continuum On November 11th
A tipster from Phone Arena has just mentioned that three new Verizon devices will be available starting on November 11th. The three devices are said to be the Motorola (WX445) Citrus, Samsung Zeal, and the Samsung (i400) Continuum. First of all, the Citrus is said to feature a 3-inch touchscreen display with a 320 x 240 resolution, a 3MP camera, WiFi support, EVDO Rev. A connectivity, Bluetooth support, Android 2.1, and a 2GB microSD card pre-installed. Next up is the Samsung Zeal which may give you flashbacks of the Samsung Alias / Alias 2. It sports a 2.6-inch QVGA display, a 2MP camera, Bluetooth support, a microSD card slot, and e-ink keys that work the same way as the Alias 2. For some reason, it has the same model number - U750 - as the Alias 2 so they're definitely really similar.
Last, but definitely not least, is the Samsung Continuum. This Android 2.2 based smartphone sports a 3.4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display, a smaller "Ticker" 1.8-inch Super AMOLED display, a 5MP AF camera with an LED flash and 720p HD video recording, a 3.5mm headphone jack, WiFi b/g/n support, EVDO Rev. A, a microSD card slot (8GB in the box), 2GB of internal storage, 384MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM, the Touchwiz UI, and DivX support.
November 11th is also the rumoured date that the Google Nexus Two (or the Samsung made Nexus device) will be available.

Leaked Verizon Rebate Form Says the DROID 2 Pro / Global, Palm Pre 2, Samsung Continuum, and Others Are Coming Soon
Thanks to a leaked Verizon rebate form we know that a few new handsets are headed to the biggest US carrier. This includes the DROID 2 Pro and two models of the DROID 2 Global, which means there will be one without a camera for business purposes. The Palm Pre 2 also makes an appearance and comes with a $100 rebate. The Motorola (WX445) Citrus, Samsung Zeal, and the LG Cosmos Touch are on here as well. The latter two are unheard of before this rebate form so look out for those to be leaked / unveiled soon.
Yes, the Samsung (i400) Continuum is also on the form and this one should be unveiled at the company's November 8th event - along with the Nexus device. Last, but not least, there's a new Bold 9650 on the way so maybe this will have OS 6.0 pre-installed or something like that.Look out for them all sometime in November, which seems like it'll be a big month for the carrier.

Eight Devices Hitting Verizon On November 11th; Includes Pre 2, DROID Pro, DROID 2 Global, and LG enV Touch Pro
We heard earlier today that Verizon would be getting the Samsung Continuum and the LG Vortex on October 29th and it looks like they'll have four more handsets in the pipe two weeks after that. On November 11th, the carrier will be releasing the Palm Pre 2, Motorola DROID Pro, DROID 2 Global, and the Motorola (WX445) Citrus. The Pre 2 is, of course, running on WebOS 2.0 (check out Engadget's review if you want), while the other three handsets will be running on Google's Android OS. Verizon is definitely a carrier to be reckoned with since they have all of these smartphones on the way.
Update: According to Phandroid, November 11th will actually be a very big day for the carrier. In addition to the four phones they'll be launching we now know that the Galaxy Tab will be hitting the carrier on November 11th as well. That's not all though. Apparently, you can also expect the LG enV Touch Pro, the LG Vortex, and the Samsung Continuum on the 11th too. Yes, the Vortex and the Continuum were supposed to actually launch on October 29th but it looks like that has been pushed back. So that's eight devices in one day, can you handle it?

Verizon Launching the Samsung Continuum and the LG Vortex On October 29th
Two more handsets are headed to Verizon on October 29th and they're both Android-based. The first one is above and it's the Samsung Continuum; the other handset is the LG Vortex which is said to be the CDMA variant of the Optimus One. We'll talk a bit about the Continuum first. This handset is well-known for its two displays on the front, a 3.5-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display and a smaller OLED secondary display on the bottom, dubbed the "Ticker". Specs including a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 5MP camera, and Android 2.1 with the Touchwiz UI.
The Vortex, on the other hand, caters to the mid-end crowd. This one sports a 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen display, a 600MHz CPU, a 3.2MP AF camera, a 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS, Bing search engine, and WiFi / Bluetooth support. Thankfully, this one's running Android 2.2.

More Images Of the Samsung (i400) Continuum, Some Specs Mentioned Too!
Pictured beside the Verizon Samsung Fascinate (left) is the upcoming Samsung (i400) Continuum (right). This smartphone was leaked yesterday and is another smartphone to look out for. It's running the Android OS and sports a small "Ticker" OLED secondary display at the bottom for a bunch of notifications. When this launches, it'll be the fifth Galaxy S smartphone available in the US and it'll likely cost anywhere between $150 and $200 on a 2-year contract (I'm betting on $200). Specs are still unknown but it reportedly features a Super AMOLED 3.5-inch touchscreen display, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 5MP camera, Bing is the default search engine, and Android 2.1 with the Touchwiz UI. Head on over to Android Central for a bunch of other pictures.

Verizon Leak Says They Have a Lot On the Way For the Holiday Season
There was a leak today and the faucet is definitely still running. This is a huge leak regarding Verizon's upcoming devices and they're all below for you via Engadget. Before you scroll down I'll just mention the best / worst parts.
The Storm 3 reportedly isn't headed to Verizon anymore and that might be good / bad news depending on whoever you are. The rest of the BlackBerry line-up will reportedly be updated in October so maybe that means the OS 6.0 update is on the way. The Continuum - just like we heard this morning - should be available in late October or maybe in early November. The Motorola DROID Pro is reportedly also going to hit the carrier in late October / early November - this will be the Global Edition of the DROID 2. The Motorola Venus is apparently going to launch October and will sport a BlackBerry-style. This smartphone will sport a 1GHz CPU along with the Android OS. The LG enV Pro is apparently going to launch in November with Android and a 1GHz CPU. The HTC Merge that has been leaking out lately is reportedly also going to be available in the next month or so with a 1GHz CPU and it's another global handset. Clearly, it's reportedly going to be a big month for Verizon.
Last, but not least, there's the Motorola Stingray tablet which will sport a 10-inch display, 16GB of internal storage, Nvidia's Tegra 2 chipset, CDMA connectivity, upgradeable to (4G) LTE support, and Android 3.0 "Gingerbread". There's also talk of a bunch of hubs, so you can check that out below.
The BlackBerry 9570 Storm3 has been canceled. It could still launch somewhere, but it won't be on Verizon, apparently -- and considering that it was shaping up to be an ever-so-slightly-retuned Storm2, we can't say we blame them.
The Tour, Bold 9650, and Curve 3G will all get updates in October. "Known issues" and the like.
Samsung SCH-i400 Continuum on tap for late October. We'd heard from our other source that it'd be on tap for early November, but either way, the wait shouldn't be a long one. It's got a 1GHz processor and is known internally by the codename "Garnett."
Motorola Venus in October. This is an interesting one -- Verizon bills it as having "BlackBerry look and feel" with a QWERTY keyboard up front below the screen, possibly mimicking T-Mobile's Charm, but higher-end thanks to a 1GHz processor and both CDMA and GSM / HSPA radios on top of Froyo.
Motorola Droid Pro tentatively scheduled for late October or early November. It's listed as having a 1.3GHz processor, Froyo, global radios, and Flash 10. We still have every reason to believe this is the phone we've been calling the Droid 2 World Edition (or Global Edition), but it's unclear whether it'll replace the Droid 2 altogether.
HTC Merge / Lexicon / Lexikon coming in late October / early November, too. Don't be fooled: all of these code names refer to the same device, and even Verizon's communication uses both "Merge" and "Lexicon" interchangeably. As expected, it's a global phone with a 1GHz Snapdragon.
LG enV Pro -- with Android -- coming in November. In all likelihood, this is the phone we referred to as the enV Touch 2 back in August. It'll maintain the enV Touch form factor and feature a 1GHz processor plus a global radio, making it the best enV (and frankly, possibly the best Android phone from LG anywhere in the world) to date.
Motorola Stingray tablet in Q1 of 2011. Now this is interesting. We'd previously thought the Stingray would be a smaller tablet, but it now seems it'll be a full 10 inches with Android 3.0 Gingerbread, 16GB of on-board storage, and Tegra 2. Oh, but that's not the best part: it'll also be "hardware upgradeable to LTE," initially launching with CDMA alone. Whether that means you'll need to purchase and insert some sort of module or something, we're not exactly sure.
FiveSpot next month, three USB modems for LTE in November, LTE MiFi after that. After a few fleeting rumors that it had been deep-sixed, it seems that the ZTE-sourced FiveSpot mobile hotspot will finally launch on October 7. We'll then get a trio of USB LTE modems in November from LG, Pantech, and Novatel -- perfect for Verizon's first round of commercial LTE launches -- and an LTE MiFi (from Novatel, naturally) either in the fourth quarter or first quarter. The "initial launch" of it will be domestic only, presumably meaning no GSM support.

Samsung (i400) Continuum Headed To Verizon With Galaxy S Branding, Packs Two Displays!
An exclusive coming from Engadget has just broke the news on what the Samsung (i400) Continuum will be. First of all, it's running Android and it's headed to Verizon with the Galaxy S branding (the party continues). This smartphone actually packs two displays on the front, the primary large display and a smaller secondary OLED display at the bottom. Apparently, it's being called the "Ticker" so you'll get notifications, weather, and even some RSS updates. Specs are unknown right now but it seems to sport a microSD card slot on the side. This could be Verizon's next flagship device - launch date is unknown right now.
