Alltel Releases the Motorola Milestone X and the HTC Merge

Alltel has just released two new smartphones that are running the Android OS and they join the Samsung Gem as well as the LG Axis. They now have the Milestone X along with the HTC Merge if you want to check them out. The Milestone X is the exact same as the DROID X that has been available for months on Verizon while the Merge has been available on other carriers for a while too. They're all pretty good phones so give them a look if you're stuck on the carrier.

Verizon's DROID Incredible 2 and DROID X 2 Smile For the Camera Again

Android Central has picked up more photos of the upcoming HTC DROID Incredible 2 and the Motorola DROID X 2 that's headed to Verizon in the near future. The Incredible 2 is, unsurprisingly, looking just like the Incredible S and it packs an 8MP camera on the back with a dual-LED flash. This one's also rocking Android 2.2 with the Sense UI and it's looking like it'll launch with that OS as well. Check out more photos on their website if you're interested.

The other smartphone that has been caught on camera again is the upcoming DROID X 2 from Motorola. This one's also headed to Verizon, possibly with just Android 2.2 as well. On the back there's an 8MP camera and there's also an HDMI and microUSB port on the side of the device. Of course, if you want to check out more photos, just head over to the website.

It's set to launch on March 17th and it looks like Best Buy Canada is now taking pre-orders for one of the most powerful smartphones in the world, the Motorola Atrix. This smartphone packs a 4-inch qHD display, WiFi hotspot capabilities, a dual-core Tegra 2 CPU, Android 2.2 with MOTOBLUR, and HSPA+ connectivity. This is a pretty great Android device on paper but, apparently, it does have some problems. If you're willing to pre-order it for $50 anyway then check it out on Best Buy.

A tipster from Mobile Syrup has just mentioned something pretty great. If you take a look at the photo above, it's pretty clear that Bell's employees in Canada are now starting their training for the Motorola Atrix smartphone. Unconfirmed Motorola DROID X 2 Specs Leak Again, Set For Q2 Release

Coming from The Mobi Zone along with Engadget is word on a few "confirmed" specs regarding the upcoming Motorola DROID X 2. This handset will reportedly feature a 4.3-inch display with a 480 x 854 resolution, 768MB of RAM, and just a single-core 1.2GHz CPU. This is a lot difference from the wild rumours we heard about this one packing a 1GHz Tegra 2 chipset along with 1GB of RAM. Oh well, we'll see how things play out because these are still unconfirmed specs. Anyways, this handset should be hitting Verizon sometime in Q2 without LTE (4G) connectivity.

Unfortunately, a leak from last week says that we might not get our hands on this handset until Q2 of this year which is still a few months away. Anyways, check it out at the FCC.

AT&T's Motorola Atrix 4G Will Be Available On March 6th For $199, Pre-Sales Start On Feb. 13

Coming from the WSJ is good word that the Motorola Atrix 4G will be available starting on March 6th on AT&T's "4G" network. The pre-sales for this smartphone will reportedly start on February 13th and the phone itself will cost $199.99 on a 2-year contract - yes, we've seen it cheaper at some online e-tailers. This smartphone will be one of the best on the market with its Tegra 2 chipset along with HSPA+ connectivity and the Android OS along with Motoblur, but will it save the carrier? It is the carrier's first great Android handset so we'll have to see how the public responds.

If you want the laptop dock with the handset then bundled together it'll come out to $499.99 after rebates. Separately, it'll cost $499.99.

Update: AT&T has announced it as well!

Motorola Atrix 4G Briefly Shows Up On Amazon and Costco's Inventory System For $149.99

Here's another one that sounds too good to be true - but it actually could be. The Motorola Atrix 4G that's headed to AT&T in the US with 4G connectivity has actually hit Amazon (it's been pulled) for $149.99 on a 2-year contract and for $599.99 contract-free. This price tag could be true because Verizon will be getting the iPhone 4 soon so AT&T is definitely going to have to do something big to maintain their spot as the biggest carrier in the US. Of course, this price tag could be a bit lower than what AT&T will actually be launching it for, which could be $199.99 on a 2-year contract but that's unconfirmed right now. The release date for this one is still unknown so we'll have to wait for that.

Update: There's another rumour going around that this will actually be available on February 11th.

Update: According to Android Central, the picture below is a photo of Costco's inventory sytem. It also says that the Atrix 4G will be hitting AT&T for $149.99 on a 2-year contract. Maybe it is true.

Motorola DROID X 2 Rumoured To Have Better Camera and Tegra 2, Announcement Soon?

There's a new rumour going around that Motorola may be set to unveil their next Motorola DROID in the near future. The rumour states that it will be the successor to the DROID X (above), dubbed the DROID X 2. Apparently, it's being codenamed the "Daytona" and could be cruising with a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 chipset along with a 540 x 960 resolution 4.3-inch display. This handset could be hitting Verizon in the Summer and other specs could include a better (8MP) camera with 720p (hopefully upped to 1080p since it does have the Tegra 2 chipset) HD video recording, possibly just Android 2.2 (hopefully "Gingerbread"), a microSD card slot, an HDMI port, and possibly even LTE (4G) connectivity. Maybe it'll be announced at MWC, we'll just have to wait and see.

AT&T's Motorola Atrix 4G Hitting Best Buy On February 13th, Keyboard Dock To Go For $150?

It's unconfirmed right now but the latest rumour going around states that the Motorola Atrix 4G with HSPA+ connectivity will be hitting AT&T, or at least Best Buy, on February 13th. Like I said, this is unconfirmed right now but you can still mark it in pencil on your calendar. This smartphone will be one of the most powerful ones on the market with a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 chipset and a 4-inch display.

That's not all though, there's another unconfirmed piece of news that states that the Atrix 4G's keyboard dock will cost an extra $150. It's not too bad for what you get which is a full QWERTY keyboard, a larger display, and an extended battery. Of course, your smartphone will do all of the work since it's already a workhorse.

Motorola CLIQ 2 Could Still Hit the Market, We Just Don't Know When

The latest rumour going around is that Motorola is still working on an Android-based and MOTOBLUR-packing CLIQ 2. This handset was rumoured to be launching on November 1st but that clearly didn't happen. The company has just filed for the CLIQ 2 name, so it's clear that they're working on it. However, when this does hit the market expect it to be a mid-end device because the first CLIQ was set for teenagers. Rumoured specs include a touchscreen display, a QWERTY keyboard, 3G support / hotspot functionalities, WiFi with support for WiFi calls, and Android 2.2.
