Android-Based Huawei IDEOS S7 Slim Tablet Hits the FCC With AT&T 3G

The FCC has just got their hands on yet another Android powered tablet and this time it's the Huawei IDEOS S7 Slim. According to the filing, the tablet has 850/1900MHz bands which is great for AT&T in the US and various carriers in Canada. The tablet itself, as you should already know, features a 7-inch touchscreen display, a 1.2GHz Snapdragon CPU, dual cameras, a microSD card slot, WiFi / Bluetooth support, an HDMI output, and Android (not Honeycomb). Check it out at the FCC.

Cricket Teases Huawei Ascend 2 and the Samsung Indulge At CTIA

Cricket has just unveiled two phones at CTIA today and they're, of course, both running Google's Android OS. Both of the handsets are CDMA and on the left side you have the Huawei Ascend, which is already available, and on the right it's the upcoming Huawei Ascend 2 which is going to hit the carrier in the future. The display is, unfortunately, still HVGA and it's got an improved 5MP camera on the back. This one will be available for $150 contract-free so that's pretty great.

The other handset that they teased to us is the Samsung Indulge (below) which we've been seeing for a long time. This is the same Samsung Android QWERTY-packing handset that's on MetroPCS but this one's only sporting CDMA connectivity - no LTE (4G). This one's also packing an HVGA display and it's going to launch for $350 contract-free.

GCF Approves the Huawei Ideos X3 Running "Gingerbread"

Like the title says, it looks like the Huawei Ideos X3 has just been approved by the GCF. This phone officially features tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity along with UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA 2100MHz. We heard about this phone in February so it should feature a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, a microSD card slot, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth 2.1 support, a 3.2MP AF camera, a front-facing camera, a 600MHz CPU, and a 9.9mm thin body. Interesting stuff, I wonder when it'll actually be available.

Huawei Ideos X3 and S7 Slim Devices Official At MWC

Huawei has finally made their Ideos X3 handset and their Ideos S7 Slim tablet official. The X3 sports a 3.2-inch display along with Android 2.3. The full spec sheets haven't been announced yet so that's what we're going to have to wait. But, a few websites have already posted their first thoughts on the Ideos S7 Slim tablet and, so far, they're not good. We know that the tablet features a 7-inch display, 3G / WiFi support, a 12.5mm thin body, and Android 2.2. The display, from what I've seen so far, looks pretty bad at moderate viewing angles but that's what makes the price tag cheap.

Huawei has just teased two devices that they'll be officially unveiling at MWC on their Flickr account. It's above and below and it's the IDEOS X3 and S7, respectively. The number probably signifies how large the screen is - in inches - so you have a 3-inch handset above and a 7-inch tablet below; both of them are running Google's Android OS but the version is still unknown. Specs are unknown right now but we'll know everything in about a week.

Another leaked inventory screenshot shows that Verizon intends to launch the Motorola DROID 2 Global "soon". It'll be available at launch in black and white for $199.99 on a 2-year contract if the leaked shot from Costco (above) is to be believed. Another handset that should also be on the way is the T-Mobile Comet aka the Huawei U8150. This will reportedly be available for $149.99 which is quite steep considering the other Android handsets that the carrier already offers - and will offer in the near future.

Android-Based Huawei (C8600) Ascend Hitting Cricket For $150 Contract-Free

Huawei may have a smartphone that you might want to check out soon. It's already available in China but it looks like it will be hitting Cricket in the USA as well. The phone we're talking about here is the C8600, which will be launching as the Huawei Ascend. The Ascend features a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display, a 3.2MP camera, EV-DO Rev. A connectivity, and Android 2.1. That's some pretty decent specs when you consider the price.
